Depending on your specialization, you'll graduate ready to pursue your Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credentials (CRC), or other school counseling certifications.*

Hone your skills in one of these three unique and rewarding areas of counseling:

  • School Counseling specialization (48 credit hours)
    Help students of all ages get the most out of their education by assessing and finding solutions to common behavioral and learning problems, promoting psychological health, and implementing effective career development planning.
  • Clinical Mental Health specialization (60 credit hours)
    Support clients of all ages and cultures as they manage their emotional health challenges and function as a clinical mental health counselor in private practice, inpatient or outpatient agencies, government and non-government facilities, or community organizations.
  • Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling specialization (60 credit hours)
    Improve the lives of vulnerable populations such as the elderly, veterans, those suffering from chronic illness and disability, and recovering addicts, by connecting them with employment opportunities — among other services.


No matter which specialization you choose, you'll graduate prepared to care for the people who need you most. All three specializations include practicum and internship requirements, ensuring you learn in real-world environments.

Admissions Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university
  • A minimum GPA of 2.75 (or 3.0 for the last 60 hours of your undergraduate tenure)
